Who We Are
PTMWC (PyeongTaek Migrant Welfare Centre) is an non-governmental, non-profit, NGO organisation based in Korea that aims to provide developmental and humanitarian aid to support Foreign Workers residing in Korea and abroad. The Association was founded in 2000, by Kim Woo Young, after encountering harsh racial discrimination in cases such as unpaid wages, illegal severance payments, and unfair contracts in the Korean workplace.
Based on this problem, we set out to create an equal society for both migrants and natives by safeguarding and furthering the human rights of immigrants workers. |
What We Do
Since PTMWC's formation, we have started countless projects such as NEKO Happy Dream, Global Star, the Korean Language School, Medical Check ups, Agriculture Support, Cross Cultural Collaboration Conventions, and many other projects to support Migrant Workers abroad.
In this vein, PTMWC has centers, both in and out of Korea, that strives to tackle workplace and educational problems. |

Where does PTMWC get its funding?
Although we get financial support through the Ministry of Labour and the municipal government in Pyong Taek, we tend to find that we are underfunded in running the centre and affiliated project in Nepal. Due to these issues, we have started running several businesses created through the joint efforts of foreign workers and locals to raise funds.
